What a whiner. Visa money probably not really going to the government. Terrible roads, Nairobi is a dump. Everyone looking for handouts. Driver is too softspoken. English isn't good. Etc, etc, etc.

To say Nairobi was a dump when you had just arrived was, perhaps, a bit early to make such a judgment!
Airport tax and visa charges are always paid in hard currency.
